Get the Buzz ... APM Canada Impresses The Customer With Their Dedication To Live Outage

In Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, APM Canada mobilized at Heartland Muskeg River for a hot gas path inspection. The outage lasted from March 27, 2024 until April 15th, 2024 and ended with approximately 4,000 manhours completed with ZERO recordable injuries or quality issues! The team’s dedication to the Live Outage initiative impressed the customer and aided their success.

This month’s spotlight features APM Canada Quality Leader, Zeljko Gnjatic! Zeljko started his journey here when he was hired with Alstom Power Canada in June 2009, and after 2016, it become GE Power when GE purchased Alstom. He recently reached 25 years in this industry and 15 years with APM! Outside of work, Zeljko is the father of 15 year old, Lucas (grade 10), husband to his wife, Mitra, and was an industry appointed member to the Alberta Safety Code of Council  for 2 years. Get the Buzz... Gas and Steam Succeed at Calpine Bosque!

In March of 2024, a Gas Power team (along with a specialized Steam crew) traveled to Lake Whitney, Texas to conduct an outage at Calpine Bosque. The scope of the job entailed a hot gas path, rotor out, and generator inspections on two gas turbines as well as a steam turbine major with multiple upgrades. Led by APM Superintendents Andrew Sims, Chester Manymules, and Kolt Carden, the 35-man crew excelled with the tasks at hand.

Get the Buzz... Gas Power North Delivers Success with a Heavy Load of Lifting!

In September of 2023, a team from Gas Power North mobilized to conduct a six-week outage. Led by Superintendents Jon Barlow and Jason Reese, the crew underwent a 21,000-hour job which comprised of a Turbine Major, Exhaust Frame Change Out, Shell Alignments, Generator Major with a Field Swap, and 60 critical lifts. Of the 60 lifts, three involved the Generator Field, while six involved the Turbine Rotors.

Get the Buzz ... APM Steam Fossil Overcame Challenges Through Coordination and Vigilance at Little Gypsy Station Louisiana

At Entergy Little Gypsy station in Montz, Louisiana, Steam Fossil performed a HP/IP disassembly from December 1st through December 19th, 2022. They then remobilized on January 3rd, 2023 for the HP/IP Major/Outer Shell Repair and reassembly and a generator rewind. After demobilizing on July 7th, the team revisited the site for the last time on October 4th to finish the generator reassembly and concluded the job scope on November 3, 2023. Throughout the multiple remobilizations, Steam Fossil completed over 45,000 manhours with ZERO recordable injuries or quality events!
