Meet APM Fossil Steam Project Superintendent, Mark Redden!

This month’s spotlight features APM Fossil Steam Project Superintendent, Mark Redden! Mark was led to this industry when he transitioned from active duty in the United States Marine Corps to civilian life and needed to find employment to support him and his wife. His late father-in-law, Kyle Ruggles, was a Union Millwright and longtime APM employee, so he suggested joining the Millwrights through the Helmets to Hard Hat program, which had just recently been started at that time. He joined the Millwrights in April of 2007. His second millwright job and first job with APM was working for superintendent Mark Angel at the former DP&L power plant Killen Electric Generating Station on a valve outage. Mark have been working solely for APM ever since that time going on 18 years in April of 2025! At work, Mark is a Journeyman Millwright, Certified Mechanic, Subject Matter Expert, and Superintendent.  Outside of work, he is a Husband, Father, Veteran, and Volunteer Fire Fighter. Meet APM Safety Champion, Gerald Allee!

This month’s spotlight features APM Safety Champion, Gerald “G” Allee! G was led into this industry and to APM through his cousin who was a Millwright that had worked with APM for a long time. After, he got into the hall, his first job was with APM on the Gas side. Now, he will reach 9 years with APM on October 1st! At work, G is a Subject Matter Expert and Safety Champion. Outside of work, he is a husband, parent to 5, and soon to be Grandpa! Meet APM Canada Quality Leader, Zeljko Gnjatic!

This month’s spotlight features APM Canada Quality Leader, Zeljko Gnjatic! Zeljko started his journey here when he was hired with Alstom Power Canada in June 2009, and after 2016, it become GE Power when GE purchased Alstom. He recently reached 25 years in this industry and 15 years with APM! Outside of work, Zeljko is the father of 15 year old, Lucas (grade 10), husband to his wife, Mitra, and was an industry appointed member to the Alberta Safety Code of Council  for 2 years. This month’s spotlight features APM Steam Fossil Superintendent, Tommy Phillips! Tommy was led to this industry by applying for a welding job in 1996. He first learned about APM from his co-workers while working for another contractor in 2000. He worked his first job with APM in 2004, making this his 20th year working with APM! At work, there are many roles Tommy is determined to take on. He believes we are role models to those that are eager to learn and advance, we are mentors to many, we are listeners to all, we are the voice of reason, we are motivators, we are the bridge between our craft team, our GE Vernova team, our supporting contractors and the site personnel. Outside of work, Tommy is a parent, a husband, and a son. She found this position in her job search on the Internet, the Houston Chronicle, and using dial up Internet! Her roles in APM have included Billing, Accounts Payable, Office Manager, and IT. Outside of work, Cindy is a parent, grandparent, and sports team mom.
