APM Gas Power mobilized on February 12, 2024, in Warton, TX for an outage at Colorado Bend 2. Over the next 2 months, they demonstrated dedication to safety, continuous learning, and the Life Saving Rules. On April 29, 2024, the APM Gas team completed the job with zero recordable injuries and 20,219 person-hours!

He first learned about APM from his co-workers while working for another contractor in 2000. He worked his first job with APM in 2004, making this his 20th year working with APM! At work, there are many roles Tommy is determined to take on. He believes we are role models to those that are eager to learn and advance, we are mentors to many, we are listeners to all, we are the voice of reason, we are motivators, we are the bridge between our craft team, our GE Vernova team, our supporting contractors and the site personnel. Meet APM Steam Fossil Superintendent, Dave Maxwell!

This month’s spotlight features APM Steam Fossil Superintendent, Dave Maxwell! Dave joined APM in 2012 as a millwright / turbine hand. After three years of service, he was asked to advance to the role of crane operator. After one outage as a crane operator, he was promoted to the keyman role. He worked in that role for three more years before being recommended for the Superintendent role by another APM Superintendent. At home, Dave is a Farmer, an uncle to two fantastic nephews and one great nephew, as well as a sawyer and dozer operator. We are so excited to spotlight Dave! Hopefully over the holidays you got time to relax, connect with family and friends, and enjoy some holiday traditions. One of our traditions is watching great Christmas movies like It’s A Wonderful Life and Die Hard and The Christmas Story. If you have seen the last one, you know exactly the context of the above exclamation from the hero, Ralphie. When asked by his saint of a mother, “Where did you hear that word?”, Ralphie’s inner voice responds, “Now I had heard that word at least 10 times a day from my old man.”
