Meet APM Gas Power Services Superintendent, Basel Haddan
This month’s spotlight features APM Gas Power Services Superintendent, Basel Haddan! Basel's first job with APM was in 1998 at Bridger Wyoming. He then went on to work with APM at Wyodak in Gillet Wyoming and at Moss Landing, and ever since then, most of his millwright career has been with APM. His affinity for mechanical work and learnings about the trade from a family member led him to this industry and to being a craftsmen that loves to teach his craft. Outside of work, Basel is a parent to his son and many foster children. We are so excited to spotlight Basel! Read more to get to know his history, proudest moments, and unique perspectives.
What’s one thing that surprised you about working with APM?
The one thing that surprised me the most is how much the company cares about its employees. It is what set it apart from all the other contractors, and it is what kept me coming back all these years.
What is a typical workday for you?
A typical workday for me is a day full of new and exciting challenges. Never a dull moment.
What energizes you at work?
The thing that energizes me the most at work is the commitment of belonging to a greater good. Not only for myself but all the craftsman that join me on the job. I love to teach, learn, and work as a team to put another great job behind me.
What do you find the most challenging in your role?
I think the most challenging thing in my role is finding enough time in the day to get everything accomplished to stay ahead of the next day.
What do you like most about working with APM?
The thing I like the most about APM is they're not only committed to themselves, but they are committed to the entire team that is working with them. That has made for a great day at work every day.
How has APM helped you in your career development?
APM has helped me in many ways throughout my career development. All the knowledge they have taught to those before me has been handed down. And all the knowledge that they have taught me has helped me to get to where I am now.

Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)
What is your proudest moment with APM?
Becoming a Superintendent.
Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?
My Grandfather and his work ethic.
How do you prefer to spend your days off?
I love to spend days off with my family. No matter if it’s at the park, BBQ, or fishing. I just enjoy spending all the time I can with them.
How do you balance your career at APM and family?
This can be a very hard challenge at times. At home, I focus on being present with my family and spend all the time possible with them. When I’m at work, I focus on the job, crew and after work on my family. I take the good with the bad and try to find the best place in between.
What advice do you have for prospective APM candidates?
There is no “I” in TEAM – It takes all to commit to be the best company.
What is a non-work-related accomplishment that you’re proud of?
Being a foster parent for over 18 years.
