Get the Buzz ... APM Steam Fossil Overcame Challenges Through Coordination and Vigilance at Little Gypsy Station Louisiana

At Entergy Little Gypsy station in Montz, Louisiana, Steam Fossil performed a HP/IP disassembly from December 1st through December 19th, 2022. They then remobilized on January 3rd, 2023 for the HP/IP Major/Outer Shell Repair and reassembly and a generator rewind. After demobilizing on July 7th, the team revisited the site for the last time on October 4th to finish the generator reassembly and concluded the job scope on November 3, 2023. Throughout the multiple remobilizations, Steam Fossil completed over 45,000 manhours with ZERO recordable injuries or quality events!

In Noblesville, Indiana, APM Gas Power mobilized to respond to an unplanned outage on August 14, 2023. They completed almost 10,000 manhours between their start date in August and their demobilization on December 21, 2023! In late August, Wes Story (APM Gas Superintendent) and I had the privilege to engage in a Shingijitsu kaizen event at the FieldCore Atlanta Tool Center. (A Shingijutsu kaizen is a continuous improvement event spearheaded by a specially trained teacher called Sensei, with multiple kaizens occurring in parallel.) We spent a week with the other GE Vernova One Field Service leaders and the Tool Center technicians, observing them inventory kits, helping them identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve the tool kit inventory process …

APM Steam in the South Leads Outage with Safety and Quality Excellence for Our Returning Customer

During the outage that began in September 2020, our APM Steam Team had 11 craftspeople conducting the day shift and 10 working the night shift. Our group of experts maneuvered around many schedule changes while remaining cohesive in communication. Lead by APM Superintendent David Baker Jr., the team utilized tools such as Safety Task Analysis cards, pre-job discussions, and refocus meetings to keep safety at the forefront of all tasks, delivering APM's standard of excellence for our customer.
