Leadership Reflections – Glimpse into Next Week

Next week is important for our APM – it aligns us around the key focus for the upcoming outage season. We asked Dan Reinhardt, our COO, to share a brief message as a glimpse into next week.

APM Team,

We look forward to seeing many of you next week in Houston, Texas at the 2024 Safety & Quality Culture Summit. Our data shows that those who choose to attend the S&Q Training lead safer jobs – they are 35% less likely to have an injury on a job. It’s important for us that you be here and be engaged. Please make attendance a priority, bring a fresh mind, and travel safely.

Throughout the week, you will meet many people, hear many presentations, and share many conversations. There is value in all of it, but we want you all to walk away with three key takeaways:

  • Life Saving Rules: Mechanical Lifting, Working at Heights, Driving Safely, Line of Fire, Work Authorization, Confined Space, Energy Isolation, Live Electrical, Fire and Explosion

  • Fall Playbook: Mentor Program, WHWH, Non-standard Work

  • Risk Management: Crew Planning, Parameter Sheet, Peer Checks, Leave Your Mark, Fatigue Management

If you walk away from the week clearly understanding how to implement these strategies on your jobsite in the fall, the week will have been a success. Please ensure you listen for these topics next week, and if anything is unclear at any time, raise your questions! Thank you in advance for your presence and good engagement. We look forward to kicking off an excellent fall outage season together.

Many thanks,

Dan Reinhardt, Chief of Operations
