Conroe ISD’s Stars Special Olympic Team originally had 1 tennis table for the whole district. After an APM employee noticed a need in the community, they worked with APM to get 5 additional tables, one for each of the 6 schools!

Read MoreIn November of 2023, APM Gas Power travelled to Steens, Mississippi for a three-week-long outage at Caledonia. We were thoughtful about selecting the right crew for our Caledonia customer to ensure their needs were met. The Operations Division Leader, Jeremy Trapp, had this to say on the matter, “I started with sourcing available crews with TVA training and hand-picked the craft with the highest ratings to ensure the success of job.” A total of 20 APM craftspeople were selected for this assignment, divided into day and night crews containing one Superintendent and eight millwrights. The final two were delegated to an alternative scope.
Read MoreThis month’s spotlight features APM Boilermaker, Timothy Shake! Tim first signed up for the apprenticeship program in 1987 and start working as a pre-apprentice. At first, he worked in combustion engineering then ABB, then Alstom, GE, and now APM. For the past 20+ years, he’s been the foreman and general foreman on jobs. His great uncle Eddie Dowell Sr. was a chartered member of local 45. Tim’s dad followed him in the trades and eventually Tim followed his dad. This spring Tim will complete his 37th year in the trade! Outside of work, Tim is also a father of three. We are so excited to spotlight Tim and congratulate him on his recent APM award win! The onsite team included experts with Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation, Controls, and Boiler backgrounds. Read MoreThis month’s spotlight features APM Gas Power Superintendent, Lucas Coleman! Lucas was led to the industry through Welding School. The Millwrights were looking for welders and his teacher selected him and a couple others to take a weld test at the hall on a Friday. Lucas passed the test and started work on Monday! His Grandpa was a Union Millwright in Detroit for Ford and when Lucas asked his Dad what a millwright was, he would always say “a jack of all trades.” He began working with APM in 2016, totaling 7 years to date! Read MoreAPM Renewables mobilized on August 4, 2022, for the Boott Hydro jobsite in Lowell, Massachusetts where they remain active on site. This outage stemmed from an emergency service call for their assistance in the complete overhaul of two hydro generators, which includes disassembly, rewind, and reassembly. Even while accumulating over 15,300 manhours and counting, the APM Renewables team maintains a 100% safety and quality!
