Leadership Reflections – ‘23 Mojo to ‘24 Confidence
As we close the year, I want to thank all of YOU for our work together in 2023.
The year was not perfect – we had our challenges, particularly with safety and quality in the first half. Yet I am very proud in how we are finishing the year. We rallied this summer, put strategies in place, and have executed significantly better this fall. We have strong execution momentum (“mojo”) heading into 2024.
And our Customers are recognizing our execution this fall. In November alone we had 13 CX scores of 5*. Reading the commentary brings even more pride and gratitude.
“The team demonstrated exceptional proficiency and provided an adequate workforce to cover the evolving outage scope.”
“Safety oversight and general craftsmanship was first class.”
“I was thoroughly impressed with the speed in which they finish and the workmanship was great.”
“Good communication and planning to execute the WHII 2023 Fall outage on schedule.”
“The crew performed the work with no safety incidents. All processes were followed, and updates provided in a timely manner.”
“Great dayshift/nightshift APM crews. … The resources have improved tremendously over the last 2 years. … Continue providing excellent service.”
I am confident heading into 2024 – because we have mojo and also because we are well positioned within GE Vernova. We provide valuable services to 7 of the Vernova businesses and we are influencing at many of the Vernova tables.
Finally, many of us will be making time over the next couple of weeks to rest and re-energize with loved ones. I want all of us to do that well.
And yet we still have many of our APM teammates who will be working over the holidays. As of last week we had ~1200 craft teammates working 60K+ hours on 100+ jobs at ~60 sites. That work continues into this week, both on jobs that are coming to a close as well as emergent jobs where APM is stepping up to help. And we also have our corporate support teams engaged through the holidays, whether it be Job Setup & Safety & Payroll & IT supporting the site work or the broader Finance team daily working to close the books.
To all of you, I am proud to serve with you in APM and again I say THANK YOU. My prayer for us all – may we all enjoy a safe, healthy, and blessed holidays.
