Get the Buzz... APM Gas Power Delivers Excellence at Caledonia!
In November of 2023, APM Gas Power travelled to Steens, Mississippi for a three-week-long outage at Caledonia. We were thoughtful about selecting the right crew for our Caledonia customer to ensure their needs were met. The Operations Division Leader, Jeremy Trapp, had this to say on the matter, “I started with sourcing available crews with TVA training and hand-picked the craft with the highest ratings to ensure the success of job.” A total of 20 APM craftspeople were selected for this assignment, divided into day and night crews containing one Superintendent and eight millwrights. The final two were delegated to an alternative scope.
The APM crew’s main objective was a Hot Gas Path with a Steam Turbine Generator Minor. While the crew was prepared for the task at hand, there were still many learnings to be taken from the site, as always. APM Superintendent, Joshua Silas, had this to say about the crew’s first exposure at Caledonia, “Since it was the first encounter, we had to build a new relationship and ensure alignment to their requirements. We also had to acknowledge group tensions and find ways to keep a steady workflow when they arose. Remaining proactive, thinking outside of the box, and keeping up with safety and quality were critical to the success of the job.”
While we acquired many fresh insights from new site exposure, our crew excelled at their posts, completing the scope with 100% safety and quality. Demobilized on December 14th, the 4,817-hour job ended on a high note with Jeremy Trapp claiming, “Both teams performed above and beyond to ensure a safe and quality outage.” Congrats and HUGE kudos to Tommy Wilds, Joshua Silas, Timothy Falls, Austin Wilds, Lane Charles, Blaine Voiers, Anthony Blair, Shawn Wilds, Christopher Miller, Gerald Foggy, Roger Perry, Bryan Vanhoose, Reid McCrary, and Ethan Bundus, as well as Justin Harris, Thomas Thornton, Heather Dixon, Drew Mitchell, Hunter Whytashek, and Brian Price from Local 1192 on your excellent outage at Caledonia! We look forward to future opportunities here.
