This month we are highlighting our Finance Team to showcase our APM Pillars —Accountability, Candor, Collaboration, and Transparency. We asked Bruce Bever, our Chief of Finance, to share a meaningful glimpse into how the Finance team lives out one of our core organizational pillars, Candor, with intention.

Bruce shares:

With limited resources and increasing demands, success hinges on our ability to leverage each other’s strengths. He states, “Collaboration is essential to our business and our career longevity,” underscoring the value of honest communication and mutual support.

Within the Finance team, candor is demonstrated by encouraging people to speak up … not just when they need help, but also when they have the capacity to offer it. This culture of openness and resource awareness ensures that collaboration is not just a value, but a daily practice.

These values are embedded in the company’s DNA: “It’s our culture.” Whether it’s setting clear expectations, being transparent about limitations, or celebrating success through recognition and trust, the Finance team exemplifies how candor drives performance without micromanagement.

Lastly, the team’s commitment to continuous learning (“… people eager to learn will find ways to get involved”) reflects a growth mindset that fuels both individual and team development.

We are thankful to our Finance Team for living this pillar. Let’s all join in fostering an environment where candid dialogue, shared accountability, and mutual learning propel our APM forward.
