Leadership Reflections – EX Learnings & Actions

I was reminded of something this week in a call. “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” ~ Peter Drucker

We often see our culture in what you experience, and we get insight into your experience through your valuable feedback in the Glint Employee Experience (EX) Survey. So it makes sense to start our 2025 Reflections blog with a focus on employee experience.

We asked Katie Maldonado, our Communications Director, to showcase the 2024 EX survey learnings and the 2025 actions.

Our 2024 Employee Experience results demonstrated that we remain strong in the cultural categories of safety, purpose, and execution. We are thankful to see these measurements of our culture remain strong year after year. We hope you feel the effects of these strengths within in the day-to-day life working at APM.

We also recognized significant improvements in work/life balance and alignment. This is valuable feedback, and we hope the recent efforts to focus on work team alignment and execution to standards will continue to drive these improvements in the future. We know there is still work to do in helping our teams feel empowered to take necessary time away with the peace of mind that our business will continue to run with excellence. We appreciate your help to work toward this goal. We are confident that narrowing our focus to APM standards is the best way we can achieve this.

Our 2024 Employee Experience Council identified actions to help us continue our improvement journey with specific goals to improve transparency and collaboration, as well as increase empowerment for our resources to support fulfillment excellence and work/life balance. See more details below.

  1. Focus #1 – Increase Transparency

    1. Action: Publish Business Blueprint and pulse throughout the year

    2. Action: Reinstate Employee All Hands Calls at the kick-off for outage seasons

  1. Focus #2 – Empower Resources

    1. Action: Implement key time periods for changes to programs, policies, and technologies

    2. Action: Strengthen employee understanding and alignment to APM values

  1. Focus #3 – Improve Collaboration

    1. Action: Implement standard meeting rhythms and content for working teams

    2. Action: Reconvene Supt Council to discuss ideas and share best practices across divisions

If you are interested in participating in the Employee Experience Council, please reach out and let your manager know. We request new council members each year with volunteers from across the business to ensure balanced representation for each division and function.

Look for further updates on these actions over the next couple of months as we begin implementation. We also welcome your feedback on how the action are helping the organization. As always, your feedback matters and is valued.

Thank you for choosing to work with passion and excellence at APM.
