Reflections ... 2025 EX Survey Results
This week I asked Katie Maldonado, our Communications Director, who leads our Employee Experience (EX) Survey efforts, to share her thoughts on the most recent EX Survey results. I want to thank all of the 426 who participated and gave us 1545 comments (I do read them and take them to heart). That is a treasure of feedback that will help us continue what we do well and keep working on the things we need to improve. THANK YOU!
This week, we are excited to share the results of our most recent Employee Experience (EX) Survey. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your feedback. It is truly a gift! Your input helps us understand where we are doing well and where we can grow together.
At the close of this survey, 426 of 707 employees participated, giving us a 60% response rate (matching the company’s average). Even more encouraging, we received 1,545 comments, a sign that our team is not only engaged but also committed to shaping the culture of APM.
Key Strengths to Celebrate
We have many reasons to be proud. The survey highlights important areas where our culture is strong and improving:
• Transparency: Up 13 points since June 2024, with a positive trend over the last four surveys.
• Future Success: Score of 78 (up 2 points since last year), showing confidence in our ability to thrive and adapt for the future.
• Safety: Highest score at 87, reflecting confidence that APM is a safe and supportive place to work.
• Humanity: Score of 81, showing employees feel a strong sense of inclusion and belonging.
• Learning, Accountability, Purpose, and Diversity: All scoring in the mid-80s, demonstrating strong execution, development, and alignment.
These results show that our foundation is solid … employees feel safe, connected, and supported in meaningful ways.
Opportunities for Growth
At the same time, the survey shows us where we need to focus to improve the employee experience:
• Total Compensation: Scored 58, showing many employees want compensation to feel more competitive.
• Career Opportunities: Scored 69, pointing to the need for clearer growth and advancement pathways.
• Work-Life Balance: Scored 74, with positive gains (+11) but still an area for continued focus.
• Resources: Scored 77, with employees asking for more tools and support to do their jobs effectively.
These opportunities provide a clear roadmap for where leadership and teams can work together to strengthen our culture.
What’s Next
Over the coming weeks, a volunteer council of employees across the organization will review these results in more detail and recommend concrete action steps for the next 6–12 months. Look for another update in Q4 to understand the actions our business will take to leverage this data for improving your experience at APM.
In the meantime, you will hear from your individual leaders about team-specific results and areas for focus. Each team will commit to one shared action for improvement. Our shared mission is clear: to build on what’s working while tackling the areas where you’ve told us we can do better.
A Final Reflection
One of the most powerful results came from the purpose question:
“My work gives me a sense of personal accomplishment.”
This received a positive response rate of 82%, showing how deeply our employees connect their daily work to APM’s mission: Empowering the People Who Power Life.
YOU make it happen. Thank you for your honesty, your commitment, and your ongoing engagement. Together, we will keep building a stronger, safer, and more supportive APM.
