What is a typical workday for you?
Getting to the jobsite early. It gives me time to think about the day and then I roll with the punches as they come.
What energizes you at work?
My morning safety brief. I really enjoy talking with my team and listening to their questions and concerns. It starts the day on the right foot. Also working with apprentices, it is great to see their eagerness to learn.
What do you find the most challenging in your role?
Making sure my team goes home to their families the same way they came to work.

Working with a lot of cool people and working in so many unique places.
How has APM helped you in your career development?
APM is my career, there is no other place I want to work.

How do you prefer to spend your days off?
Hanging out with Robin (wife) and our dog Waldo. I rescued him while working for APM in Guadalajara, Mexico.
How do you balance your career at APM and family?
It’s always tough to leave home. As I get older, it is tougher, but I know I have to support my family, and my wife knows I really love what I do.
What advice do you have for prospective APM candidates?
Work hard, be honest, keep your nose to the grindstone. Never stop learning, and most of all, never quit.
What is a non-work-related accomplishment that you’re proud of?
I give blood when I have the opportunity. I am a member of Tunnels for Towers. I donate every month, and we also donate to St. Jude’s every month. They might not be accomplishments, but they are things I am passionate about.
