Ron has worked with APM for over 20 years, with 15 of those as a Superintendent. Outside of work, Ron is a proud father of three, grandfather of 6, and husband. What led you to this industry and how did you first learn about APM?

 

My dad was a millwright and asked me if I wanted to be one. I said yes and worked my first nuclear job in 1994 and stayed with it through my entire career. Truly learned about APM working as a millwright during the unit 1 wreck at DC. Cook.

 

What’s one thing that surprised you about working with APM?

 

The commitment to safety.

 

What energizes you at work?

 

Learning new things.

 

What do you find the most challenging in your role?

 

Nuclear paperwork.

 

What do you like most about working with APM?

 

The management support.

 

How has APM helped you in your career development?

 

Continuous training.

 

What courses, certifications, or programs did you complete?

 

Superintendent evaluator and Project Superintendent.

 

What is your proudest moment with APM?

 

Getting nominated for the APM President’s Award.

 

 

Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

 

My dad.

 

How do you prefer to spend your days off?

 

Spending time with my family and riding my Harley.

 

What advice do you have for prospective APM candidates?

 

Follow the knowledge, and the money will come.
