Reflections ... Thanksgiving Turkey Hand
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Lots of traditions built around faith, family, food, and fun. One tradition our family enjoys is creating a Turkey Hand.
Turkey Hand: Two reasons why we create and share a Turkey Hand each year.
Gratitude has many benefits for health, resilience, and relationships.
Hands are our most valuable tool and most commonly injured body part at APM.
We are Thankful: This year’s Turkey Hand features thanks from each member of my family. There are common themes of thanks for family and friends, good health, and fun moments. Plus there is my own encouragement from the scriptures of our faith.
My Hand Safety Commitments:
I will keep my hands out of the line of fire of moving objects and hazardous energy releases (for example, a carving knife or a wind blown car door).
I will shake the hands of my family and friends we see this week. (The Centerville, TX crew.)
I will keep my pinky and pointer fingers strong for this coming Friday. (Hook’em Horns!)
Thank YOU! Finally, I am thankful for the ~2,000+ craft working during Thanksgiving week and our corporate support teams that keep our craft focused on the deck. Your dedication inspires me to be my best for you.
Create your own: I invite you and your family to join in our Turkey Hand tradition. Share what you’re thankful for and commit to hand safety.
May we all enjoy a safe, healthy, and blessed Thanksgiving!
