Forging Full Speed Ahead After Our Conference in Orlando

The PIT (Performance Improvement Training) Team performed a pit stop exercise during the general session on the opening day of our conference.

Our teams spent one day with their regions to discuss successes and challenges from previous jobs to coordinate a game plan to ensure optimal execution during the upcoming outages.

This year we return to the edge of our Fall outage season after a great 2014 Superintendent Conference in Orlando, Florida. We had over 400 in attendance, including APM Superintendents, GETSCO Superintendents, GSSI Safety Specialists and APM Corporate management and personnel. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the event to gear up for the upcoming outage seasons. The organization of this year’s conference required collaboration of our APM, GETSCO and GSSI teams as we hosted numerous sessions and classes for professional, technical and soft skills development. We heard from guest speakers with PIT (Performance Improvement Training), GE PGS (Power Generation Services), OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) and National Training Seminars. The focus for this year was on leveraging best practices from our teams as well as the expertise of the guest speakers to promote speed and productivity on our jobs. It was inspiring to hear from the various perspectives and thought leaders in our field and other industries. We appreciate all of the employees, partners and vendors that put time and effort into making this year’s event resonate success! There’s a survey that recently came out soliciting attendee feedback, and we hope that you will participate to help us improve and maintain value for future events.

During their breakout, our GSSI team received an update from OSHA (Occupational Health & Safety Administration) Compliance Assistance Specialist, Joan Spencer.
