Let’s Walk and Work for our community! The NAMI Walk is this Saturday, and we hope to see you all there! If you are unable to attend, please consider donating to the team. See more details below.

We are also excited to announce an upcoming Houston Food Bank volunteer opportunity in June!

Please consider joining us in supporting a cause that advocates mental health awareness. Our team, the APM Good Neighbors, is participating in the 2025 NAMIWalks event for mental health in Houston, TX. See all the details below! We’d love it if you became a team member and walked with us.

Event Route Length: 3.2 miles

Time:

8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. CT

Registration Opens: 7 a.m.

Opening Ceremony Starts: 8 a.m.

Walk Begins: 8:30 a.m.

Event Ends: 12 p.m.

 

Our team fundraising goal is $500.

As a team member or supporter, you will help us raise funds for NAMI's free top-rated programs, services, education, and guidance. Their valuable work also promotes critical awareness, and further builds our inspiring mental health community. Volunteer support is critical to Houston Food Bank's mission of food for better lives!  Serve our Houston community by volunteering at the warehouse shift with the APM team!

 

  • Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2025

  • Time: 8am – 12pm

  • Location: 535 Portwall, Houston, TX 77029

  • To sign up, follow this link and choose the “Portwall Morning - TEAM A” shift on June 11th (from 8am -12pm). If this is your first time with the HTX Food Bank, you may need to create an account.

  • Description of Duties: Varies with the makeup volunteers for shift. Most of the projects at the warehouse involve inspecting, sorting, and repackaging of donated food items for community distribution.

  • Parking: If space permits it, you may park in the front parking lot, but in the event of a large volunteer turnout, you may be directed to our overflow lot located behind the building.

  • Attire: Dress with Safety in Mind

    • CLOSED-TOE SHOES REQUIRED

    • Casual dress

    • Long pants (preferred)

    • T-shirt with sleeves 

    • Bring work gloves if desired
