Shining Bright with Accountability

You are never alone. You are eternally connected with everyone.” ― Amit Ray

APM Specialty Services Canada is on a roll this Spring outage season after concluding a successful 11-month unit addition project in April 2020. In collaboration with Baker Hughes, APM provided a five-person team of millwrights, electrical, and instrumentation support for all major construction and commissioning activities during the installation of a MW30 compressor station at Turner Valley for TC Energy in Alberta, Canada.

Building a safe and reliable compressor station that effectively transports natural gas at a specific pressure takes great skill and a cohesive team. Our APM team set foot on new soil and was given the opportunity to display their in-depth expertise and their commitment in safety, quality, and integrity to the construction management team on site.

Taking ownership of safety practices and projects paves ways to fresh partnerships and retains long lasting connections. Recognized by Site Manager, Dana Winfield, Shawn Boss-Moodie is a Superintendent who owns his accountability.

"Shawn Boss-Moodie has shown he can lead a group of men to a specific goal despite the obvious language and cultural differences. He has real attention to detail and is a great self-starter/motivator," said Winfield.

In addition to the great work done at Turner Valley, the supportive teams on site joined forces to also bring some magic to the Boys & Girls Club during Christmas of 2019. Backed by 300 contributors, they were able to raise nearly $10,000 and tie a bow on over 200 presents for children participating in the program!

"Whether we knew it or not, we have actually been building meaningful human relationships for years to come, they might even outlast the compressor station. The end product is a tight knit community which is supportive of one another. Don’t get me wrong, we have had some challenges along the way, but somehow we have always come back to align as ONE team,” said Project Manager, Christopher Phung.

It is a privilege to work alongside teams who emphasize philanthropy as a critical aspect in supporting a community that others call home. Congratulations to APM, Baker Hughes, Mastec, OTS, Stantec, MAC Engineering, Tarpon and others who united to bring this project to life!
