Good Neighbor - Golden Acres Elementary

The effects of Hurricane Harvey are visible in countless homes across the Houston area. Streets are lined with flooring, furniture, and treasured personal belongings- all lost to water damage. For many, however, the signs of loss do not stop at the end of the driveway. They follow these people, evident in the clothes they wear. Many families, especially children, lost substantial amounts of clothing as water accumulated in their homes. In an endeavor to replace what was lost, local schools have held donation drives, asking the community to contribute for the benefit of those in need. One such school, Golden Acres Elementary, reached out to the Pasadena community to give back to students affected by the storm. APM + APCom did not hesitate to give to the Golden Acres Grizzlies. We began a “Good Neighbor” project, and invited local businesses, including Clark Freight Lines, Inc., Kinloch Equipment & Supply, Inc., Mourik, Inc., and SER Construction Partners, LLC. to join us in contributing to this noble cause.  Bags of clothing, towels, toiletries and cleaning supplies were donated to the school by the generous employees of these companies. The APM + APCom campus supplied the 11 pairs of tennis shoes identified as being needed by the school. We sincerely thank those who donated. Efforts like this are paramount in uniting our community when we need each other most.
