APM Steam Fossil Maintains Excellent Service through Multi-Crew Outage at Woodland Pulp

In August of 2021, our Steam Fossil Team, led by Superintendents John Stalling, Dave Sturgis, Roger Jones, Dax Reed and Jared Kennard, was scheduled to mobilize for an outage at Woodland Pulp Mill in Baileyville, Maine. However, the team was called in sooner than expected to aid in the repair of a rotor causing damage to the mill.

Despite the team having little time to plan, their extravagant communication allowed them to transfer incoming information amongst all 4 crews well enough to record 100% safety and quality. “This outage could have quickly gone the other way if communication would not have been done the way it was. Excellent job by the Superintendents!”, said APM ODL Brett Kennard.

With the efforts put in by the Steam Fossil team, the mill’s rotor was restored, and the crew continued with their three-month outage as initially planned. Without their repair, the site could have faced a detrimental period of downtime, potentially losing millions of dollars in the process. Huge kudos to the crews at Woodland Pulp for their success!
