Leadership Reflections... Transparency Reflections from Bruce

In recent months, we’ve discussed Collaboration and Empowerment – both of these goals require Transparency. We defined a transparent workplace as “a culture that promotes a two-way conversation among departments and between frontline employees and management that openly and honestly discusses matters pertaining to business performance, goals, objectives, and more.” We need every employee to embrace transparency to get us there. Below are reflections from our finance leader to help encourage our teams toward this goal.

From Bruce Bever, Chief Finance Officer:

Communication is a key component of Transparency. Effective communication requires an information sender and an information receiver. As employees of a large organization, we are constantly being bombarded with information, and we must be intentional about what we send and receive. As a sender, make sure your information is clear and concise to ensure optimal understanding. Use simple language and be direct while remaining respectful and considerate. As a receiver, make sure you are listening and reading with an open mind to understand, and don’t be afraid to ask clarifying and/or challenging questions if further clarity is needed. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we are communicating both ways effectively. When we do this well, we speed up our workflow and elevate our quality of execution.

The body requires all of the unique parts to function optimally. We WORK and WIN as one when we have transparency!
