Leadership Reflections... Yearend Reflections Stop Work Authority

We are leading into the Spring outage season and beginning to see an increase in teammates, hours, and jobs … and also an increase in risks. With this in mind, I would like to share some insights regarding our STOP Work Authority. Below are the key points I emphasize in the video.

  1. You are empowered and expected to STOP Work when you believe there is a risk doing anything safely, with quality, or simply if you think there is a better way.

  2. When you do STOP work, expect a reply of gratitude for caring via the phrase “Thank you”.

  3. We must get better at learning from and taking action on STOP works that are reported.

To our frontline teammates, when you raise a STOP moment, expect two responses: “Thank You” and “Here is a corrective or preventive action we are implementing as a result of your courage to STOP”.

Be safe and successful!
