Get the Buzz... APM Boiler Delivers Dependable Excellence

Estimated Read Time: 3 minutes

Our APM teams are the face our customers see every day. APM Boiler has been providing continuous service to East Kentucky Power (EKP) in Kentucky, Xcel Energy in Colorado, and for the Entergy White Bluff, Independence & Nelson (WIN) Pulverizer program in Arkansas and Louisiana for decades. This reliable presence encourages a sense of unity and partnership amongst the APM crews, the GE team, and ultimately our customers. Being able to operate with integrity and maintain a top quality and safety culture, in addition to forming these closer partnerships, are what drive APM Boiler’s value and longevity at these sites.

The teams work directly with the site to plan and manage work scopes. Staffing consists of three to five full time craft that manage various scopes in their day-to-day activities. One day the craft could be performing routine maintenance on the mills and boilers, and then the next day, they could be working around the clock on a forced outage. During forced and planned outages, craft from local halls are hired on to bolster the crew and complete the added work scopes.

The team at EKP Spurlock has been at site for over 14 years maintaining the scrubber systems and supporting forced and planned boiler outages with Millwrights, Boilermakers, Pipefitters, Operating Engineers and Laborers. For over 25 years, the Entergy WIN Program has performed the preventative and scheduled maintenance of the pulverizers with Millwrights and Boilermakers. The Xcel Weld Team has serviced the Xcel Generation fleet handling large and small scopes for 10 different sites for over 25 years.

We are proud to recognize the daily effort and commitment of the diligent individuals at these sites. Thank you to Chris Church and Barbara Purcell at EKP. Thank you as well to the Entergy WIN crew members under the leadership of Mike Runyon, Alan McDermott, Ed Robinson, and Cheryl Rogers. Finally, we recognize and thank the Xcel Weld Team of Joel Mellon, Oleg Vdovich, Blayne Graham, and Dylan Phillips. We, along with GE and our customers, appreciate the outstanding dedication and value of these crews!
