Get the Buzz ... APM Rigging Teams Up with Gas Power to Deliver Excellence

In early 2022, APM’s Rigging Team was informed of a distress call from a power station in Minooka, Illinois. The call noted that removal of a Generator Field could have been executed differently. The APM Rigging Team was called in to advise. Before mobilizing, Boston Rigger, Kevin Melanson, traveled to the site of work to investigate and confirm that the scope could be achieved safely.

When the Team received Kevin’s confirmation in February of 2022, they shipped from Boston to Minooka to meet with members of the APM Gas Power Team. The two divisions worked together to install sixty feet of frame system, which allowed for removal/replacement and safe crane picking of the generator field.

“APM Super Dustin Adkins worked seamlessly with the Rigging Foreman Kevin Melanson, and Dan McLaughlin to complete this mission safely successfully”, said APM Proposal Lead, Jay Porrazzo.

The two-month outage was executed with excellent safety and quality priorities throughout all 600 manhours. The pre-job scheduling conducted allowed the team to arrive on-site fully prepared to complete the needed scope. Kudos to Dustin Adkins, Dan McLaughlin, Kevin Melanson, and the rest of the participating Gas Power Team and Rigging Team for your success in the North Region! It is always exciting to see our divisions teaming up to delivery for our customers.
