Employee Spotlight - Meet APM Superintendent, Jorge Huitron!

An APM Superintendent manages direct labor supervision of craft site crews designated to outages. They maintain adherence to APM’s policies, procedures, standards, and overall safety and quality at a job site. We are so excited to spotlight Jorge! What led Jorge to the company and what is his proudest moment with APM?

In early 2009, with experience as a millwright apprentice, Jorge sought a career change. His uncle, APM Superintendent Daniel Gomez, referred him to APM – Since then, Jorge has been employed with APM for a total of 13 years. After gaining more insight in leadership and coaching, Jorge transitioned into a Superintendent position. Moving into his leadership role is Jorge’s proudest moment with APM.

One thing that surprised me about working with APM is how partnership-oriented this company is. What I like the most about working for APM is the level of professionalism everyone has, and the friendships we make all over the country,” commented Jorge.

What energizes and inspires Jorge most at work? What advice would he give a future APM employee?

Shared team commitment towards continuous improvement in safety at job sites raises Jorge’s energy at work every day. Impactful leadership and guidance provided by Superintendent Alejandro Blas, serves Jorge as priceless inspiration towards how he approaches his own role while on outages.

APM has helped me become a stronger leader,” added Jorge. His advice to future APM candidates is, “to keep working hard and learn from everyone around you.”

What does Jorge enjoy during his free time?

Jorge spends a large amount of time away from home for work. When he has free time, he prefers to spend it with his wife of 17 years, and his children. “Spending time away from home is hard, but having the right person in my life, my wife, makes it much easier,” commented Jorge.
