APM Restoration Efforts Bring Power Back to Entergy Louisiana Sites Following Major Hurricanes

Following the major hurricanes, Laura and Delta, teams were called to repair three Entergy Louisiana sites, and bring power back to communities. GE, FieldCore, and APM reported to the sites to begin storm restoration efforts and get power up and running for our neighbors in Louisiana.

This important task was met by Superintendents Chris Varnado, and Chris Eastwood, as well as the members of Boilermakers Local 37. Supported by Operations Division Leader, John Baierlein and Construction Manager, William “Bill” Blades, our teams worked quickly and efficiently with Entergy to provide work estimates, technical support, and crews on the ground. We deployed to plant sites Nelson 6, NISCO, and Calcasieu to help navigate the destructive impact of the storms.

Our strong APM crew set foot in the Southern state and worked alongside supportive teams to deliver stellar craftsmanship and exemplary safety prioritization to the sites. Our crew’s professional and undeterred work approach impacted the community with solace during a time of recovery. Successful efforts across all sites allowed Entergy to start up within a timely manner and deliver power to areas severely affected by the major hurricanes.

“I will have no hesitation in employing GE/APM on future projects and therefore look forward to working with you all again; it is always a pleasure working with you and your team, demonstrating a positive “can and will do approach” throughout the entire process,” commented Entergy Mechanical Plant Engineer, Eden Marroquin.

Pulling together quick restoration arrangements to bring all three of Entergy’s sites to 100% full power was a result of successful collaboration across numerous teams, and the common goal of providing support following challenging weather events.

Thank you to APM, GE, and FieldCore in bringing safety, quality and excellence to Louisiana in a time of severe need. We are proud to deliver power to the people who power life.
