What is your official job title with APM?
Superintendent/ Technical Advisor
What led you to this industry and how did you first learn about APM?
I wanted to know what produced electricity, and I was working on a job where APM served as the compressor representative - that’s when I became interested in APM.
When did you begin working with APM and how many years have you been working with APM?
I started working with APM in 2019, so I’ve been here almost 5 years.
What’s one thing that surprised you about working with APM?
- The skill level of all the craft that are sent out to jobs
- Upper Management is here for me if I have a question or need anything, and they will go all out to get me the answer or whatever it is I’m needing
What is a typical workday for you?
Waking up early, getting off work late, and trying to spend time talking to my wife and family before going to bed.
What energizes you at work?
All of the challenges that come with the job - I believe I work better under pressure.
What do you find the most challenging in your role? Keeping everything running smoothly day-in and day-out.
What do you like most about working with APM?
It feels great to complete a job and be recognized for all the effort.
How has APM helped you in your career development?
APM has helped me learn how to manage people and problems with no worries.
What courses, certifications, or programs did you complete?
I have completed a Jon Crane Dry Gas Seal course, LM 2500 (up to level one Maintenance) Certificate, became a certified rigger, and also obtained my certificate to ride in a Helicopter to go offshore.
What is your proudest moment with APM?
My proudest moment with APM was when I was sent on a 7EA dual fuel job that I wasn’t too familiar with, and I was able to execute the job successfully with the craft that APM provided.
Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?
The person who has influenced me the most was Steve Puttman.
How do you prefer to spend your days off?
I love to spend my days off with my family hunting and fishing.
What advice do you have for prospective APM candidates?
Ask questions - if you do not know, ask. There is nothing wrong with asking questions because I guarantee the person beside you wants to ask the same question.

People at work call me “Dunaway”.
How do you define success?
To me, success is being able to finish what I start.
