APM Steam Nuclear Wins Premier Zero Injury Safety Award
We are deeply proud to announce APM Steam Nuclear as the recipient of the Zero Injury Safety Award! This award is determined by the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee and is widely recognized by construction and maintenance unions. The organization will host a gala in mid-October to showcase the team’s hard work and dedication toward their zero-injury commitment.
Mobilized in August 2020, the APM Steam Nuclear team included multiple trades:
47 Millwrights
7 Operating Engineers
9 Pipefitters
11 Laborers
This large team led by Superintendents, Terry Jennings, Eric Finch, and Johnny Ramirez, reported to Callaway Nuclear Plant located in Fulton, Missouri, to provide maintenance on a turbine generator stator.
Superintendents, Division Leader - Mike Kehl, and Area Safety Manager - Mike Grotton, collaborated along with FieldCore to strategize prioritization of the health and safety of all site crews. Extensive planning with local building trades, crane schedules, staging tooling, reviewing work procedures, and following COVID-19 protocols, all contributed to a successfully executed outage for our customer.
“When issues would arise, the team pulled together to overcome anything thrown their way,” commented APM Steam Nuclear Division Leader, Mike Kehl.
As a result of a highly engaged craft team in safety culture, over 63,000 manhours were completed with 100% safety and quality (ZERO recordables and ZERO quality concerns) throughout the entire outage, meriting recognition at Callaway Nuclear Plant.
According to Mike Kehl, it is always a great honor to receive recognition of a job well done and completed safely.
