APM Superintendents Prime Engineers for Excellence

"If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." – Isaac Newton

For the past three years, a GE engineering team in Greenville has requested Superintendents from APM Gas North to help teach a class for new product design engineering. Our Superintendents who participated this past February were Tom Bernier, Pat McGinnis, and Rodney Chesser.

This is a great opportunity for our team of experts to demonstrate their shining value and have influence in mitigating the complexities found in the field. Our tenured team can shed light for the up and coming engineers, partnering with them to learn about many work processes performed on the machinery.

The two-week class performed this year consisted of the group teaching engineers the maintenance process for Gas units. The Superintendents demonstrated the steps required to take apart a unit and encouraged the new engineers to get involved to better understand the dynamics that may exist in a field setting. It’s also critical for them to dive deep into the intricacies of the units, so they can develop tooling with potential to make upkeeping more efficient.

"This is one of the favorite jobs of the year for these guys … some of the top Superintendents in the company enjoying what they do," said Mike Benacquisto, APM North Region Service Manager.

We are proud to partner in continued education for our engineering counterparts. This growth opportunity invigorates the persistence of excellence in our business and in our most important resource – our people.

Thank you for extending your vast knowledge Tom, Pat and Rodney!
