APM Canada Brightens Customer Site with Safety Success
“Almost everyone will make a good first impression, but only a few will make a good lasting impression” – Sonya Parker
APM Canada completed an installation for our new customer in July 2020. Their commitment to providing a safe outage with quality excellence at the forefront brought shining recognition from our customer.
Safety First
When the crews arrived on site, a hazard hunt was completed on the second day of the outage. Hazard hunts were completed twice a week throughout the 13-week project time span. As time pressures increased, our APM team remained focused, and kept their pace of work to ensure safety was the # 1 focus at the site
The transforming scope called for scaffolding adjustments. Supportive work scope interventions were implemented with other contractors to eliminate the potential for near misses and incidents.
Collective efforts from the crew, Superintendents, and external contractors, secured a safer work environment, and an A+ with zero recorded incidents. All teams on site executed the work scope with over 3,000 hours at 100% safety fulfillment.
Superintendent Jason Skrepnek, Foreman Keith Lesburg, and Millwright Logan Fauque are key crew members who helped make this outage a success.
“The team showed an impressive commitment to safety and quality,” commented Contract Performance Manager, Aaron Johansson.
Quality Check
A portion of the alignment work was completed by a separate contractor, and our team took initiative in performing a quality check to ensure the installation alignment was safe to continue their work scope on. Corrections were made to improve the base setup for future alignments, and additional jacking plates and legs were added.
The team’s expert ability to identify issues and adapt to an ever-changing work scope while completing work on site, and upholding APM’s standards of safety and quality played a large role in setting a positive first impression on a new site.
APM crews visualized the customer's needs and predicted future obstacles to assist in reducing impact to their existing schedule changes. Customer teams consistently commended our team for driving concentration in safety and quality excellence at the site.
Thank you to APM Canada, and all supportive teams at the site who delivered 100% safety and quality excellence for our customer!
